Farrell Heydorff played volleyball for 4 years at Flintridge Sacred Heart and then continued playing in college at Illinois Institute of Technology. The cold weather of Chicago did not agree with her and she returned to sunny California. She began her coaching career at Santa Monica Beach Club coaching the 12-2s. She coached the JV team at La Salle High School before she left for the US Air Force. Traveling the world did not stop her from her true love, coaching girls volleyball. She coached the Pyong Tech High School team in South Korea for one year and then moved to Germany where she had the opportunity to coach the High School team at Bitburg. Once her enlistment was done she returned to sunny California and began coaching for Santa Monica Beach Club.
